Farm Crew

Our farm manager, Joseph O’Grady came to West Granby most recently from Long Valley, NJ where Joe started an organic vegetable farm that serves as the pharmacy for a holistic family doctor. Before that Joe worked for seven years on the fertile fields of the south fork of Long Island. Six of those years were as Field Manager at Quail Hill Farm, a diverse 25-acre vegetable farm and one of the oldest CSAs on the east coast. Before he got into farming Joe taught English in Rietavas, Lithuania a s a Peace Corps Volunteer. He is also an avid hiker, having thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail from Maine to Georgia in 2003 and walking 2,000 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail in 2008.

Many other wonderful people work at the Farm as Farm Crew, Store Crew, and Volunteers. Here are some of our favorite photos of them!

A Note from Our Farm Manager, Joe O'Grady

Since 2014, we have been living and farming in Granby -- and there is no way to look at our time here without feeling proud, humble and thankful. Don't tell anyone, but we came here in an act of desperation after struggling to find affordable farmland and dealing with insane landowners, not knowing how long - if at all - we'd stay.

But at Holcomb Farm we've found amazing support from our Board, volunteers and CSA members. After a decade and a half of searching we found a Farm to love and cultivate, a community to call Home (and children to raise!).

A sincere THANK YOU to all who support our Farm.
