My apologies for the late post, a long weekend trip to Vermont for our farmer friends’ wedding and the usual bustle of the season interfered. Justin and Jessica (J-squared to the crew) are leaving the farm next week to go waltzing matilda before returning to Hawaii in the spring to work on a flower farm. They will be missed and we are trying to get as much done before they leave and our crew is diminished by a third. What are we doing? Getting ready for winter. Digging potatoes and putting them up for storage (beautiful large Kennebecs and Red Pontiacs). We have our greenhouses seeded with arugula, spinach, collards, cilantro, mild mustards, kales and more. We are finishing the planning for our Winter Share and Thanksgiving Turkey sale (from Ekonk Hill Farm in Moosup, CT) and will have more information and start sign-ups later this week – space for both is limited so don’t wait to sign up!
The Share This week will be as variable as the weather and include items such as:
and some mix of Kohlrabi, winter squash, broccoli, summer squash, last of the eggplant, hot peppers, kale, and/or chard
PYO is on its last legs, but the sprouting broccoli is great and there are still raspberries, tomatillos, flowers, husk cherries, parsley, dill and cilantro
