SUMMARY:🚜 Granby Open Farm Day 🚜
DESCRIPTION:Holcomb Farm is excited to participate in this Granby tradition — and this year we’re turning it into a weekend-long event\, with our Holcomb Hoedown the following day! \nOpen Farm Day is a free\, family-friendly day full of farming fun! Farms all around Granby will open their doors to the public and invite you to experience demonstrations\, farm-fresh food\, games\, activities\, and of course to meet the animals. It feels like a town-wide fair plus a scavenger hunt all in one – with so much buzz in the air and new things to discover! \nHere at Holcomb Farm\, our Farm Store\, located at 111 Simsbury Road\, will be open from 10am-6pm\, and we will offer other activities as well\, including: \n11:00 am: Farmer Talk. Farmer Joe will tell visitors about all the varied equipment we use to produce a wide array of vegetables at Holcomb Farm. (Meet in the field next to our CSA barn parking lot\, at 111 Simsbury Road\, at 11 am.) \n3:00 pm: Trivia Contest. Teams of any size and age can compete to test their farming knowledge. The winning team will be awarded a loaded Holcomb Farm swag bag! (Contest will take place in the back of our PYO field\, behind the CSA Barn at 111 Simsbury Road. Store staff can direct you to the right spot!) \nCome out for Open Farm Day on September 6\, and then return to Holcomb Farm to kick your heels up at the Holcomb Hoedown on September 7! We look forward to seeing you on the farm!

DESCRIPTION:RAIN OR SHINE! Many of our activities will take place indoors\, and we have tents outdoors\, and the weather is supposed to improve by 2 PM\, so join us TODAY\, Sunday\, September 7 at Holcomb Farm for an afternoon of old-fashioned\, boot-stompin’ fun for all ages! We’ll have toe-tapping music\, ace-high entertainment and finger-lickin’ good eats. Put on your finest Western wear\, pack up your small fry\, and join us for a shindig on the farm! Your support will help us combat food insecurity (event free\, donations accepted)\, as all proceeds will support Fresh Access\, the Friends of Holcomb Farm’s partnership for providing fresh produce to people with limited access to affordable\, healthy food. \nFamily Fun at the Hoedown:\n\nLine Dancing by Stompin’ Boots (including instruction)\nLive music with Sarah the Fiddler\nA mounted cowboy shooting demonstration by the Granby Horse Council\nA parade and costume contest\nA horse breed show\nAn working oxen demo by Hickory Hollow Steers\nA roping demonstration\nA professional puppet show\nA Kid Zone\, complete with face painting\, old-fashioned sack races\, and more\nKids’ crafts with Granby 4-H\nYard Games like Gaga Ball\, Corn Hole\, Ladder Ball\, and Giant Jenga\nFood and drinks will be available for purchase at food trucks and at the Saloon in the North Barn. Free water and popcorn also will be provided.\n\nWear your finest Hoedown garb—think cowboy hats\, plaid shirts\, blue jeans\, and boots. SUMMARY:Hike and Story Time 
DESCRIPTION:On Sunday\, September 14\, join us for a family-friendly hike geared toward children. We will take a leisurely hike up through the Holcomb Tree Trail and stop for a read aloud story about nature before hiking back down the trail. Participants are encouraged to bring along a blanket to sit on for story time\, a snack if desired\, water and comfortable hiking shoes. Meet in the far end of Holcomb Farm’s Main Campus parking lot (113 Simsbury Road\, West Granby) at 10 am sharp and we will walk across the road together. RAIN DATE: September 21. \nPlease RSVP to laura@holcombfarm.org with the ages of all children attending so we can be sure to bring books they’ll enjoy!

SUMMARY:Free Yoga Event - New Moon Yoga!
DESCRIPTION:Join us on the evening of Sunday\, September 21\, for a gentle yoga flow designed to celebrate the New Lunar Cycle and Fall Equinox with the hope of renewal and a fresh start.
