Holcomb Farm
Holcomb Farm is a 317-acre historic working farm located in the heart of West Granby, Connecticut. It is comprised of:
- A nonprofit, mixed-vegetable production farm that produces abundant, delicious produce without chemical fertilizers or pesticides. We grow on 26 acres of Town-owned property for a 550-member Summer CSA, 100-member Winter CSA, wholesale customers, our farm store, and our food donation program, called Fresh Access. through which we provide local, nutrient-dense food to approximately 600 people per week throughout the growing season. We use only chemical- and GMO-free methods and sign the Northeast Organic Farming Assocation of Connecticut’s Farmer’s Pledge.
- 10+ miles of trails that are open to the public, from dawn to dusk. Our trails connect to McLean Game Refuge and Granby Land Trust trails, and wind their way through the beautiful, varied terrain of rural West Granby, in the foothills of the Berkshires. Learn more.
- The Holcomb Tree Trail, where nearly 100 trees are labeled with their common and botanical names; and interpretive signs teach readers more about the trees and the landscape. Learn more.
- A beautiful banquet facility for life's special events. All private bookings are handled through the Town of Granby's Parks and Recreation Department.
- A community gathering place in a historic New England setting.
The farm is operated collaboratively by the Town of Granby and a Board of Directors composed of local citizens. 277 acres of the farm are protected from development through a conservation restriction held by the Granby Land Trust.
The mission of the Friends of Holcomb Farm is to preserve, promote and utilize an historic, working New England farm for the benefit of the community.

Habitat Walk on Saturday, August 15, 3:30–5:00 pm on the Holcomb Tree Trail! 🐛🦗🐞🌳☀️
Join us for a 1.5-mile guided walk through the beautiful east fields of Holcomb Farm. Along the way, we’ll explore a variety of wildlife habitats, including open fields, pond edges, and forests. Learn about the native vegetation that supports local wildlife and hone your observation skills to use on your next visit. All ages welcome. (No dogs, please.)

Location: Meet at the Holcomb Farm Main Campus parking lot at 113 Simsbury Road, West Granby, CT. What to bring: Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable hiking shoes and be advised that some trails may be soggy.

Rainy and wet in the fields but full and abundant in the farm store and CSA! We have fresh, local, (safe), and delicious produce that you can trust! Blueberries, carrots, radish, lettuce mix, green beans, corn, and much more are all fully stocked! (While supplies last)

A lot of rain in a little time over the past 24 hours. Lightning and downpour cutting field times short. The bees have the right idea in this weather — hunker down and stay dry! Although we were desperate for rain, this weather is extremely stressful for the farm. Consistent, heavy rains increase the chances for disease, fungus, and rot in the fields. Crew also cant be harvesting in the fields on their normal schedule because of lightning, risk of trucks getting stuck, and inability to harvest certain crops. All we can do is hope the fields have a chance to dry out after this rain!
