The Friends of Holcomb Farm offer an exciting array of programs and events throughout the year—from guided hikes on the Holcomb Tree Trail to seasonal plant sales, cooking demonstrations, gardening workshops, pop-up veggie sales, educational talks, yoga, and more. Beloved traditions like our annual Holcomb Hoedown and Harvest Celebration bring the community together, and we’re always offering exciting new programs. Holcomb Hoedown!
Join us for the 3rd Annual Holcomb Hoedown!
Come on down to the farm for an afternoon of old-fashioned, boot-stompin’ fun for all ages! We’ll have toe-tapping music, ace-high entertainment and finger-lickin’ good eats. Your support will help us combat food insecurity (event free, donations accepted), as all proceeds will support Fresh Access, the Friends of Holcomb Farm’s partnership for providing fresh produce to people with limited access to affordable, healthy food.
Family Fun at the Hoedown:
- Line Dancing by Stompin’ Boots (including instruction)
- Live music with Sarah the Fiddler
- A parade and costume contest
- A horse breed show
- An working oxen demo by Hickory Hollow Steers
- A roping demonstration
- A professional puppet show
- A Kid Zone, complete with face painting, old-fashioned sack races, and more
- Kids’ crafts with Granby 4-H
- Yard Games like Gaga Ball, Corn Hole, Ladder Ball, and Giant Jenga
- Food and drinks will be available for purchase at food trucks and at the Saloon in the North Barn. Free water and popcorn also will be provided.
Wear your finest Hoedown garb—think cowboy hats, plaid shirts, blue jeans, and boots—and join us for a shindig on the farm. Prizes will be awarded for the best-dressed and best dancers.
