Holcomb Farm Events
Holcomb Farm is a hub of activity in West Granby. Visit on a summer weekend and you’ll likely see a wedding taking place in our North Barn Pavilion, CSA shareholders cutting flowers in the field, hikers on our trails, families picking up their weekly groceries in our Farm Store, and a holistic living workshop taking place in our greenhouse.

Holcomb Hoedown!
August 24 @ 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Giddyup and join us on August 24 at Holcomb Farm for an afternoon of old-fashioned, boot-stompin’ fun for all ages! We’ll have toe-tapping music, ace-high entertainment, finger-lickin’ good eats, old fashioned lemonade, and beer and wine to boot. Put on your finest Western wear, pack up your small fry (aka your kids), and join us for a shindig on the farm! Your support will help us combat food insecurity. All proceeds will support Fresh Access, the Friends of Holcomb Farm’s partnership for providing fresh produce to people with limited access to affordable, healthy food.
Family Fun at the Hoedown:
- Line Dancing by Stompin’ Boots (including instruction – see schedule for details!)
- A mounted cowboy shooting demonstration by the Granby Horse Council at 4:00 PM.
- Kid Zone, complete with face painting, scarecrow-themed crafts, old-fashioned sack races, a corncrib, a haybale maze, a popcorn and lemonade stand, and more! (Don’t miss the Farmer Fernando Puppet Show at 3 PM)
- Yard Games like corn hole, ladder ball, and Giant Jeng
- A Pop-up Farm Stand
- Dinner – food trucks including Thai Chili, North End Butcher Block, and Adam Ice Cream!
- A Saloon, serving beer and wine.
- Photo Ops: oh, there will be photo ops! Dress the part and you just might get your Christmas card photo taken in August! Yeehaw!
- A Raffle! Every $12 donated to Fresh Access gets you ticket in a drawing for an annual family membership to the YMCA – a value of $1200!
Bring chairs and blankets and enjoy a picnic dinner! Wear your finest Hoedown garb—think cowboy hats, plaid shirts, denim jeans, and boots. Prizes will be awarded for the best-dressed family, the best-dressed individual, and the best dancers. This event is free and open to all, and will take place rain or shine (we’ll just move indoors if the weather doesn’t cooperate) so mark your calendar lickety-split and plan to join us on Aug. 24!
